My newest acquisition, and
my favorite piece. The first picture is of the polished side. It shows
the extraordinary melt quite well. The second picture is of the backside-no
polish. Just enough material was ground down to remove the saw marks. I
was told that this is the last slice that will be taken from the 1.1kg
mass that remains. There is a hole in the stone that would be compromised
if another slice was cut. If you look at page 33 of Bob Haag's field guide,
picture#86 shows the cut face. This slice was taken from that.
